2018-02-07

International: The innovation project LoV-IoT – environmental monitoring of air and water with IoT Technology, has been selected by the conference committee of the 4th Smart Cities India 2018 Expo to speak at the panel discussion within the topic: IoT applications, services and real implementations. The conference takes place in New Dehli on the 23-25 of May.

About the project: With IoT and sensors the project develops a more efficient system to collect information about air and water quality in cities. The aim is to contribute towards an improved health of citizens all over the world by enabling a better basis for decisionmaking and by changing people’s behaviour. We will further develop the demonstrators from the project ”Miljöväder” for IoT and the sensor platform of LoV-IoT to integrate the quality measurements of air and water through IoT within the cities’ urban development work efforts. The project gathers the organisations in Gothenburg City to implement IoT for environmental surveillance of air and stormwater.

The project result will be available, dependable and validated IoT-products and services that will communicate with the citizens. The project will play a key role in the urban development of Gothenburg City and for the coming societal investments. The project adapts well into the municipality’s current work with air and water quality in regards to digitalisation. The project has a great potential for dissemination at a national and international level due to laws and regulations requiring cities and countries to work for better air and water quality and because citizens around the world have an interest in the quality of the air and water where they live.

IVL and the City of Gothenburg leads and coordinates the project and IMCG leads the work package for dissemination, business development and marketing.
