Green business and regional innovation capacity

Together with the trend analysis and research company Kairos Future, IMCG is surveying the conditions for business development in the region of Kalmar, focusing on green business. IMCG’s role is to provide knowledge about regional innovation capacity, by analysing the existing innovation system, in addition to recommending a strategy going forward.

Regional innovation capabilities are the essence of regional development. Most regions have these capabilities. The innovation capacity is what makes some regions winners. The capacity depends on many factors but one of the most important is the extent of knowledge transfer between academia, society and other business settings and how well they understand each other’s prerequisites.

The method used reflects the EU support for regional development within in the context of the Structural Funds Programmes and “smart specialisation strategies”.
