2019-09-18

Magnus Andersson, a high profiled expert in European innovation management leads the workshop “Facilitating the replication and scaling of demonstrators” during this year’s Celsius Summit in Brussels October 17-18. There he will point out existing obstacles and how to get around them.

Celsius is the European cooperation hub for European cities in the transition into CO2 neutral heating and cooling systems. Here, technical, social and legal expertise is shared to generate sustainable innovations for urban energy conversion.
For two days in October, actors from all over Europe will gather in Brussels at the Celsius Summit to exchange ideas and successful examples of technologies that lead to sustainable urban energy systems.

Dialogue between cities, investors, and technology carriers
Magnus Andersson leads a workshop on how to create the conditions for dialogue between investors, cities and technology carriers. He’s an expert in project finance and business innovation at IMCG, a Gothenburg and London based company focusing on smart cities and sustainable innovation.

– There are huge funding opportunities here, you just have to know how to create the right conditions, says Magnus Andersson.

Huge funding opportunities
Something central for a demo project to reach into society and create impact is funding, but to get capital, good results and technical data is not enough.

– There are huge funding opportunities here, you just have to know how to create the right conditions, says Magnus Andersson.
Above all, Magnus Andersson believes that for the results of the demo project to be scaled up and succeed in the market, funding opportunities must be included from the beginning in order to create impact.

5 Tips:

– Make sure you have political support for your solution.

– Have a long-term plan for replicating and scaling up the technology.

– Think about which organizations will be suitable to involve after the demo project is completed.

– Involve relevant legislation experts.

– Involve experts in business model development.
