United Grid

IMCG led impact work to make use of project results

In June 2021 United-Grid had its final review of the project. Due to Covid-19 it was held online instead of in Brussels. United-Grid started in November 2017 and ended April 2021. A 3,5-year smart grid project now has come to an end.

IMCG led the work of Outreach and Exploitation. Focus has been to identify both market enablers and market barriers, identifying key exploitable results that had been positively validated for their technical as well as business potential and securing that project result owners made credible exploitation plan, business plans, commercialization plans and secured ownership rights. In the end we secured plans and cleared ownership for the following toolbox and tools that will support DSOs in the transition going from passive and analogue to active and digital:

  • Toolbox and Open-Cross Platform – Atos
  • Renewable Forecasting Tool – CEA
  • Congestion Forecast Tool – Chalmers
  • Advanced Measurement Solution – SST
  • Distribution State Estimator (DSE) – Atos

“I’m really proud of the results coming out of the project and the fact that all of us have worked together on exploitation of the project results. That means that we have made future plans for the solutions, so that they actually will have an impact on the market – and will be able to be commercialized and used by DSOs.”, says Ulrika Wahlström, marketing and sales manager at IMCG and head of the work of exploitation in United-Grid.

Partners in the United-Grid project: Chalmers, TU/e, Enexis, Sorea, RISE, Forescout, CEA, Atos, SST, Göteborg Energi, IMCG.
